65 million years ago the dinosaurs died out, we only know of their existence because of the few fossil remains found. So what if a similar fate were to happen to us humans tomorrow, in 65 million years time what would remain of everything we had created and would there be anything be left for any future intelligent species to find. Fossils are the preserved remains of an animal or plant in a rock. Many of the fossils discovered so far are the ancestors of organisms that are alive today. The study of fossils is called paleontology. Much of what we understand about evolution comes from studying fossils. When organisms die, their remains usually break down into nothing. Very occasionally, the right conditions occur and fossils are created. There are different methods in which fossils form. One of these is for a dead organisms to quickly become trapped and buried in sediment. Minerals cause the non-decomposed remains to crytsalise in the process of permineralisation. Another method in which fossils can be created is by the organisms being covered in a non-porous coating such as tree sap (think of amber). This is a clip from Tony Seba's "Clean Disruption" keynote presentation at the Swedbank Nordic Energy Summit in Oslo, Norway, March 17th, 2016. The presentation, based on the book 'Clean Disruption of Energy and Transportation' asserts that four technology categories are disrupting energy and transportation: 1- Batteries / Energy Storage 2- Electric Vehicles 3- Self-Driving Vehicles 4- Solar Energy The outcome of the Clean Disruption is that by 2030 • All energy will be provided by Solar (plus wind) • Distributed solar will eat all other forms of energy. • Large scale solar will eat all other forms of large scale energy. Wind will complement solar. • Coal, natural gas and nuclear will be obsolete • All new vehicles will be electric. • All new vehicles will be autonomous (self-driving). • Oil will be obsolete • 80+ per cent of parking spaces will be obsolete. • Individual car ownership will be obsolete. • All new energy will be provided by solar (and wind) Clean Disruption is a technology disruption. Just like digital cameras disrupted film and the web disrupted publishing, Clean Disruption is inevitable and it will be swift. Copyright © 2016 by Tony Seba More info at: http://tonyseba.com

This lecture is from our 2017 'Is Genesis History?' conference. We invited a number of scientists and scholars to teach in-depth on the creation and flood model. Here, Dr. Kurt Wise shows us powerful evidence for the historicity of Noah's Flood from the fossil record. If you'd like access to this and over 70+ video lectures on geology, hermeneutics, astronomy, biology, archaeology and more, please visit ☞ https://bit.ly/2WsUHx1 to view, stream, and/or download MP4 files of the lectures themselves and download PowerPoint PDF's from most of the lectures. Dr. Kurt Wise earned his BA in geology from the University of Chicago, and his MA and PhD degrees in paleontology from Harvard University. He founded and directed the Center for Origins Research at Bryan College and taught biology there for 17 years. He then led the Center for Theology and Science at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary for 3 years, before founding and directing the Center for Creation Research and teaching biology at Truett McConnell University for the last 7 years. His fieldwork has included research in early Flood rocks in the Death Valley region, late Flood rocks in Wyoming, and post-Flood caves in Tennessee. Giant rhino fossils in China show new species was 'taller than giraffe' A new species of the ancient giant rhino - among the largest mammals to walk on land - has been discovered in north-western China, researchers say. The Paraceratherium linxiaense, which lived some 26.5 million years ago, weighed 21 tonnes - the equivalent of four large African elephants. The hornless creature's head could also reach 23ft (7m) to graze treetops, making it taller than a giraffe. The new findings were concluded from fossils discovered in Gansu Province. In a study published in Communications Biology journal on Thursday, scientists said that analysis of the fossils - found near the Wangjiachuan village in 2015 - pointed to an entirely new species that was different to other known giant rhinos. A completely preserved skull and jawbone, for example, indicated that the animal had featured a slender skull, as well as a prehensile nose trunk similar to that of the modern tapir, according to the study led by Dr Deng Tao of the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology in Beijing.
Whilst investigating the sinking of the German U-Boat 85, Richie Kohler and Evan Kovacs investigate the possibility that it could have been the Loch Ness monster and whether or not this creature could actually be a living fossil. 🇬🇧 Catch full episodes of your favourite Quest shows on discovery+: https://bit.ly/2Xntlsm Subscribe to Quest TV for more great clips: http://www.youtube.com/subscription_c... A minuscule fossil found in Scotland could reveal an important chapter in the history of life on Earth.
How fossil free hydrogen from offshore wind can decarbonize the industry and transport sector explains Reinier Waters, Project Manager Industrial Decarbonisation at Vattenfall.
Found one of the very rare fossil nodes and thought I'd record it. However there was some misleading information available online about the node so I went into it thinking it was a Glyphic Fossil node. These are jackpot nodes - if you see one one your Delve map, be excited. And HOLY SHIT that boss hit hard.

How do fossils form? What is permineralization? What is unaltered preservation? These questions and more will be answered!! Enjoy! Previous Video: http://youtu.be/BBJeEuUSeso Google+: https://plus.google.com/b/104548625245914242393/104548625245914242393 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Cramboom/626670507378336 Script: YouTube, its Cram. How do Fossils form? They're not just bones that end up underground waiting to be dug out. The word fossil itself comes from the Classical Latin word Fossilis, which means obtained by digging. But as we know some fossils can be obtained without digging. There are 4 types of fossils, mold, cast, trace and true form fossils. Mold fossils are impressions, without the bones themselves. Cast fossils are basically mold fossils but are filled in, typically with minerals. Trace fossils are traces of the existence of the creature, such as nests, burrows or tracks. True form fossils actually have parts of the animal, typically bones. There are many types of true form fossilization, but two main kinds are unaltered preservation and permineralization, which is what we will be focusing on today. Unaltered preservation is most common in insects and other small creatures. It is when they are trapped in a thick substance which hardens, preserving all parts of their body. This substance is typically amber, which is hardened tree sap. permineralization is when rock like minerals seep into the animal and replace its organic tissue and sometimes bone. This is why fossilized animals seem to have dense bones, it is because of the minerals that seeped in. One way this can happen is in a body of water. The animal will settle at the bottom, and the decomposition process will be greatly slowed by the surrounding water. Eventually sediment will cover the body, and more and more layers of rock will cover it on top. This pressure will cause permineralization. Eventually, due to geologic forces, the fossils may be closer to the surface or even above ground which is where we can discover them. Though now without technology and our knowledge of migration patterns and habitats we can accurately predict and find fossils underground, in the past we had to rely on chance to stumble upon something great. See our carbon and impact calculator: http://www.TreeProfitCalculator.com - This animation from Post Carbon Institute shows our unsustainable development with fossil fuels. We see a clear link between increasing fossil fuel consumption and the failure to believe in science and man-made global warming. This is no doubt an unsustainable denial the will come back and haunt us for generations. Perhaps time to change? Uploaded with permission from Post Carbon Institute, original source: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJ-J91SwP8w Our YouTube channel is promoting the work Better Globe is doing in East-Africa to help poor communities out of poverty by focusing on agriculture, education and dryland tree planting. Better Globe is protecting the environment both through sustainable forestry and donating trees to poor farmers. Trees help regulate local climates, protect the topsoil, help keep the soil fertile, can be harvested for food and other natural commodities, reduce the negative effects of floods, create income, provide shade, prevent desertification (sustainably harvested tropical hardwood can replace mahogany tree taken from natural forests), absorbs harmful chemicals and CO2 from the atmosphere and much more. Better Globe creates sustainable development by helping poor communities with jobs and economic development through crowdfunding, impact investments and donations. Anyone can become a customer worldwide, more than 40.000 have already. And how can you afford not to help when every Donation Package you buy give you a minimum of 6.5 profit on the purchase price over 20 years, and every additional tree gives you 11 times the cost in profit? The Donation Package (€53 - absorb 2000 kg of carbon): With every Better Globe Donation Package, 2 trees are donated to poor farmers, 500 litres of water is donated, 1.5 Euro goes to microfinance, 1.5 Euro goes to Child Africa to help build new schools and educate children and 2 trees are yours to profit from. These two trees help create jobs, accountability and sustainable growth (to mention a few), as you can always afford to give because you know you get a long-term profit in return. This way Better Globe is constantly growing. And so is the number of people living under harsh conditions in East-Africa that is helped out of extreme poverty through sustainable and green economic development.
